Summer Staff

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside our staff team to facilitate adventures - including kayaking, hiking and rock climbing.
  • Assist our food service team in the preparation and serving of camp meals.
  • Additional roles may also include opening the camp store, handling any housekeeping, general upkeep of basecamp and fostering a welcoming & hospitable experience for all guests.

Qualifications

  • Growing relationship with Jesus
  • An affinity towards the outdoors with the understanding of an "off-the-grid" experience
  • Fit an adventure camp with a slower pace, smaller groups and more communal setting
  • Familiarity with Adventures — Wild Ridge is a plus

Housing

  • Off the grid, in a yurt and adjacent to camper basecamps.
    - This includes no running water & no electricity during the camp week.
  • Opportunity to utilize amenities off of camp on Day 5.

Session 1: June 5-20 ​ ​ ​ Session 2: June 21-July 6 ​ ​ ​ ​ Session 3: July 7-22

Please complete a Young Life summer staff application online. You will need the email address of a Young Life staff person who is willing to write a recommendation on your behalf. You can expect a follow-up interview with more adventure camping-specific questions.

Spring Volunteer Work DAYS/Week

Why?

  • See & experience the spectacular property, enjoy fellowship, & help us get ready for our 9 weeks of discipleship camping this summer!

When?

  • Work days will take place on Saturday, May 9th​ & are open to anyone high school age or older. Our “work week” will span from Tuesday, May 19th through Thursday, May 21st​ & will be geared towards college aged volunteers, but will be again be open to anyone high school age or older.
  • Each of these days/weeks will include an optional overnight stay the night beforehand at basecamp in one of our yurts! This is to allow folks coming from further away (or who just want a fun campout) to be settled in and ready for the day of work ahead.
